Indonesia advanced to the sepak takraw final after beating South Korea 2-0 (21-19, 21-16) in the men’s regular category semi-final at Ranau Hall in Jakabaring Sports City in Palembang , in South Sumatra, Monday.

Indonesia will face Malaysia in the final on Tuesday. Malaysia secured their place by beating Singapore 2-0 (21-8, 21-8).

“We will give everything. I don’t know who will be chosen as the starter but both countries have an equal chance. Malaysia […] fight us [in men’s team regu]. But I will do my best. My team and I have prepared better, ”said Abdul Halim Radjiu.

Halim said the semi-final result was an achievement as Indonesia had yet to beat South Korea in that event at the Asian Games. “They [Korea] were very strong. We were pessimistic at first, but thank goodness we were able to win after fighting hard in the game. “

Indonesia coach Asry Syam said the team will give their all in the final. “From the bottom of my heart, I hope we can win the gold. But all I can say now is just do our best and pray to God for the best result.”

He declined to comment on the lineup and strategy for tomorrow’s game. “I’ll think about it carefully,” he said.

Earlier today, Indonesia defeated Singapore 2-0 (21-5, 21-16) in the preliminary round. (yan)
