Asian Games: Laos stops Indonesia in sepak takraw semi-final – sports

Laos beat host Indonesia 2-0 (21-10, 21-19 and 21-17, 10-21, 21-17) in men’s team doubles sepak takraw event at Ranau Hall, Jakabaring Sport City, Palembang, South Sumatra, Friday evening.
In the other semi-final, Thailand beat Japan 2-0 to reach the final.
With the result, Indonesia and Japan shared the bronze medal, while Laos will challenge Thailand in Saturday’s final.
“[…] whatever the outcome, we appreciate it. The teams [athletes, coaches and officials] had already worked hard thanks to their great efforts for this country, ”said later the Minister of Youth and Sports, Imam Nahrawi, who attended the match.
“We were always aiming for the best result of this match [sepak takraw]; we still have other categories, see, ”Nahrawi said.
Indonesia will compete in the men’s preliminaries on Saturday against the Philippines. The other matches will feature Nepal v Malaysia, Singapore v Pakistan and South Korea v Nepal.
