Confections in Lufkin receives backlash for Rainbow Cookie
For many brands, waving an LGBTQ + banner, or joining sexual orientation and gender identity rights groups, is a positive marketing endeavor. Pride month has become very lucrative for some.
According to Confections in Lufkin’s facebook page, when they posted a photo of a rainbow heart cookie, the exact opposite happened. They have lost a significant number of subscribers on Facebook. An order of 5 dozen cookies was canceled, along with a negative post on their company page.
The initial message would seem innocuous enough to some, was a deciding factor for others. So if you want cookies, they are in abundance now. They will be available in the store today, June 4, 2021. You may have to queue, the outpouring of support for them has been real.

They still have plenty of fans in the Lufkin area, with hundreds of shares and comments supporting their decisions. It went beyond Lufkin, and people wanted to go so far as to donate to the company. They declined these offers and posted some rescues of local animals that are close to their hearts.
