Coronavirus: Sepak Takraw League postponed due to COVID-19 | News SEPAK-TAKRAW
According to an official statement from Persatuan Sepaktakraw Malaysia (PSM), a report from the Ministry of Health confirmed that they were on the same bus last week.
The official for the team in question is currently in quarantine, but several STL players have reportedly been in close contact with him before that.
Due to the uncertainty over gravity, PSM had an emergency meeting with the National Sports Council, the National Sports Institute and Astro earlier today and decided to prioritize the safety of all.
“[We] have decided to postpone indefinitely all competitions organized by the PSM, including STL 2020, STL Youth 2020 and Dato ‘Seri Haji Ahmad Ismail Cup, until the result of the COVID-19 projection of the official of the team is out, ” PSM President Ahmad Ismail said in the statement.
Prior to the postponement, the 2020 STL Premier season was slated to enter its fourth matchweek this week, which included a Klang Valley derby between Kuala Lumpur Thunder and the Selangor Pistons as well as a final rematch of the Cup. 2019 STL champions between Johor Tigris and Penang Black Panthers.
KL Thunder lead the standings with 14 full points, followed by the Kelantan Warriors and ATM Guardians who are tied with six points each.
