KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 – The Department of Education (KPM) will take swift and appropriate action against a high school in Johor to set conditions for certain extracurricular activities for Form One students, including sports that are not open only to one race.
Shocked and disappointed about this, Senior Education Minister Datuk Radzi Jidin said that the guides published by the school went against the goals and basis for implementing sports programs in schools. .
“Let our children play together, no matter who they are. We know that sport is a very effective way to strengthen unity. In sport, all team members will play to win.
“Obviously that never crossed their minds, so I’m of a different race.” As such, sport is the way to foster the spirit of solidarity, ”he said today in a post on Facebook.
Previously, a Twitter user questioned the action of a high school in Batu Pahat, Johor and uploaded the image of a letter containing a list of clubs and associations as well as sports allegedly open to a race.
