Events to take place: “Laro’t Saya sa Parke”


The Dumaguete City Government and the Philippine Sports Commission launched the Play and Learn Sports for Free Laro’t-Saya sa Parke program at the popular Pantawan 2 Park last Saturday, attended by hundreds of athletes of all ages. .

PSC President Butch Ramirez and Commissioner Mon Fernandez were represented by Program Manager Alona Doromal Quintos for the agency’s continued support for the various outdoor sports activities that have benefited the townspeople and contributed to promote healthy lifestyles, fun and physical fitness.

Laro’t Saya sa Parke is open to everyone, whatever their age, wishing to learn arnis, chess, badminton, boxing, karate, korfball, pencak silat, sepak takraw, taekwondo, tai chi, volleyball and zumba for free every Saturday afternoon throughout the year.
Region 7 Tourism Department Director Shalimar Hofer Tamano, who also attended the Laro’t Saya launch on Saturday, praised Mayor Remollo and PSC for their efforts to make sport and wellness accessible to all by providing coaches, equipment and venues free of charge to all.

Ike Xavier Villaflores, coordinator of LSP Dumaguete, encouraged parents who accompany their children to also participate in the sports of their choice to make their stay worthwhile.
