Movie theaters were not only deemed non-essential at the start of the pandemic, but were also identified as a place where the coronavirus was likely to spread. After several months with their doors closed, some theaters have opened. One of the first big chains to do this was AMC Theaters. Some of their sites opened in January 2021.

Many Hudson Valley residents are patiently awaiting the return of Regal Theaters. It had been over a year since residents of the Hudson Valley could enter a Regal Cinemas facility.

Today a huge announcement was made on the Poughkeepsie Galleria Facebook page. The location of the Regal Cinemas in the Mall is officially open.

According to the signage from Regal Theaters, customers will still be asked to wear masks.

Home movie streaming has become so common now. It’s handy, but it just lacks the magic you get when you’re in front of the big screen and surrounded by high-quality speakers.
