Utensil seller hit by truck, killed: The Tribune India

Panchkula: An Abheypur utensil vendor was killed after being hit by a high-speed truck near the Surajpur bus stand on the Panchkula-Kalka highway while pulling his cart from the ‘kisan mandi’ in Kalka to his home. The incident happened on Sunday evening. The victim, identified as Chandan Gupta, was seriously injured. He was taken to Sector 6 Civil Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. Sunil Kumar, a fellow professional, who was right behind the victim when the incident happened, told police that the truck, bearing a Himachal Pradesh registration number, hit the victim, throwing in the air. He fell to the ground and woke up. Passers-by gathered on the spot. The truck driver fled. TNS

GMSSS-22 claims twin titles

Chandigarh: Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 22, won two titles on the final day of the Sepak Takraw State Championship. In the girls’ subjunior doubles event, the Sector 22 team defeated Ryan School 2-0 and in the girls’ senior category, Sector 22 recorded a 2-0 victory over the Post Graduate Government College for Girls , Sector 42. Ryan International School, Sector 49, won the overall trophy. In the Regu Junior Men’s Final, Ryan School beat DMC Club 2-0 and in the Junior Men’s Doubles event, the DMC (B) team beat DMC (C) 2-0. Diwank wins bodybuilding gold

Chandigarh: Diwank Gupta of Chandigarh won gold in the 80kg weight class as well as the title of Junior Mr Universe (Overall Champion 2022). He has been selected to participate in the Junior Mr Universe Body Building Championship to be held in Pune (Maharashtra) from April 15 to 17.
